In India many Fairs and festivals are celebrated throughout the year and visiting to these fairs is always entertaining in simple words it’s full of fun to visit any fair. Fairs can be of my types some last for a few days whereas some for just one or two days.

On Sunday I went to Surajkund fair with some of my friends celebrated at Surajkund, District Faridabad. This is an annual fair from 1 February to 17 February showcasing the rich culture, heritage and some amazing craft work from the local as well international craftsman. As fixed we reached the fair early in the morning so we had enough time to enjoy the event. There was a huge crowd at fairground. Not only Indians but Tourist across the world visit this unique fair as it showcases the richness and diversity of the handicrafts, handlooms and cultural fabric of India, & is the largest crafts fair in the world.

There were many shops of general items, handicrafts, day to day things and off course delicious food all decorated nicely and had irresistible attraction for people of all age groups. Everyone is looked very busy in doing the things of their own interests. Some are buying the beautiful handicraft items, some are having delicious food while children are busy in taking rides and some are busy to click selfies. There was total hustle and bustle everywhere in the fair. There were snake-charmers and jugglers too.

Surajkund mela ground had been beefed up with CCTV Cameras along with the Night Vision Cameras for safety reasons and many security personnel were deployed within the Mela premises to prevent the occurrence of any untoward incident or mishap which is really very nice to see and also feel safe. Golf Cart and a Battery Operated Rickshaw were available on request, for senior citizens and differently-abled so that they can also enjoy the fair freely.

We visit almost every stall but it’s really huge and difficult to see in one visit. We have delicious food and buy Souvenirs such as Mugs, key rings, Umbrellas, fridge magnets, coasters & decorative plates at very affordable prizes. The whole fair was full of activity. Many cultural programs like folk dances, puppet show etc. arranged by the authorities which is really a fun to see.

In the evening the fair came to an end. People began to return to their homes so do we with some great memories and amazing experiences. The fair is, no doubt, a good source of knowledge about the varied life of our country and we must visit it whenever we have suitable time.
